So we moved...
We made it, and we are making this house a home.
I still haven't gotten around to getting together all my photos of the move, but my method this time worked! I got everything unpacked in 2 weeks. Unpacked...and put away for the most part. The only boxes left are those of EJ's 'baby' items, that need to be sorted through and reboxed up.
When packing the boxes, I labeled them all with a sticker that had the room and a number on it. They were color coded. Then in a binder I had a spreadsheet with the room name at the top and numbers down the side, here is where I wrote what was in each box. So when it came to unpacking and I needed something right away, I could go right to my binder to know what box to look in.
At the new house, I labeled every room with a color coded label, and the movers brought the boxes to the specific rooms. When it came to unpacking, I started in the kitchen, and I did box 1-30. Not jumping around, not opening another box before one was completely empty. I did this throughout the whole house, one room at a time, one box at a time. It went so smoothly!!! I can not believe how well it went.
Now, I did have my mother in law here. What a blessing! She took care of the kids and normal household duties so I could just power through. She cooked, she cleaned, she did the laundry! It was so helpful!
When I get things on the walls, and the curtains changed...I will post before and after photos of the house.
That is all for this post! Don't worry I have more to say!
Signing off
